★★★out of ★★★★★ When a coach, teacher, parent, or peer says “...hey there, that was a really competent job.”  Competent?  Yeah.  Competent.  A really condescending term that points to the ultimate in back-handed compliments. It’s not bad, per se, but it ain’t great either.  Enter The Last Exorcism.  A really competent piece of filmmaking.
★★ 1/2 out of ★★★★★ Directed by Jonathon Milott and Cary Murnion The zombie-pocalypse begins in an elementary school playground, and the kids turn on the teachers.  Bloody (occasionally) and goofy (sometimes) mayhem (almost) ensues.  Shrugs all around.
★★★★ out of ★★★★★ Directed by Jeremy Dyson and Andy Nyman A tense and twisty semi-anthology of paranormal de-bunking whose fateful ending makes you rewind the the events of the film when you're walking out of the theater in this clever British offering.
★★★★ out of ★★★★★ About a 10 out of 25 on the Scary Meter.  Directed by Babak Anvari An exotic spin on a familiar tale. It's a Persian Poltergeist! This genie is not here to grant any wishes.
★★★  out of ★★★★★

Intensity: 🩸🩸 out of 🩸🩸🩸🩸🩸

Directed by Jon Wright Probably a 10 on the Scary Meter.  A boozy and cheeky creature feature that, a bit like alcohol consumption, is a lot of fun at the beginning and doesn't sit so well the longer you consume it.
