Writer/director Joe Badon’s surreal mind-blower The God Inside My Ear was one of my top 10 films, regardless of genre, for 2017, and now the Louisiana filmmaker is back with his sophomore feature Sister Tempest, which looks to be equally as outrageous as his outré debut.
The film’s logline states: “Anne Hutchinson’s troubled relationship with her missing sister is under alien tribunal. Meanwhile, her new roommate’s mysterious illness causes her to go on a cannibalistic killing spree.” If the trailer and The God Inside My Ear are any indication, expect bizarre visuals, dreamlike sequences, some nods to classic films from horror and other genres, and, well, the unexpected. Besides being a filmmaker, Badon is also an artist, comic book writer and illustrator, musician, and all-around amazing talent.
