Horror Movie News: The Hole in the Ground Trailer

Wow! Irish horror! There’s some spooky stuff happening in this A24 trailer for sure! According to Empire Magazine, the Hole in the Ground is about a woman named Sarah (Seána Kerslake) who “…moves her precocious son, Chris (James Quinn Markey), to a secluded new home in a rural town, trying to ease his apprehensions as they hope for a fresh start after a difficult past. But after a startling encounter with a mysterious new neighbour, Sarah’s nerves are set on edge. Chris disappears in the night into the forest behind their house, and Sarah discovers an ominous, gaping sinkhole while searching for him. Though he returns, some disturbing behavioural changes emerge, and Sarah begins to worry that the boy who came back is not her son.”

Allegedly, the folks at A24 said that Hole in the Ground is “remarkable debut film, weaving suspense, terror, and supernatural folklore into a richly evocative story about the primal fears of motherhood.” Hole in the Ground is directed by Lee Cronin who directed the 2013 horror short, Ghost Train.

The Hole in the Ground is premiering at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, and us regular folks will be able to catch it in the theaters on March 1.

Until then, turn off the lights, and get spooked by this spooky trailer!
