A Korean zombie rollercoaster! How fun is that?
The breadth of the genre really shows up in this episode! Gateway kid horror shows up, for the first time (and not the last), plus the movie that launched "torture-porn", a couple of stellar Korean films, and a feathered gift from the Master of Suspense.
At Portland Wizard World we were fortunate enough to do a panel in front of a live audience, where we got to be your discount Rick Steve's travel guides for a trip around the globe and looking at other countries through their horror films!

Just as zombie films really aren’t about zombies, nor are heist films about heists. Sure there’s the undead roaming across the screen and the heist film brings you the extra-elaborate scheme to get the goods, but neither is really about what they claim. If you’re a follower of horror (and we know you are) you know that many things in horror are simply devices to get to the heart of the matter. Human emotions.
Zombie: A corpse said to be revived by witchcraft, especially in certain African and Caribbean religions. synonyms: living dead, undead,...
Another day, another pointless remake.
Did we ask for this? Is the zombie genre dead? Did the Walking Dead franchise kill the zombie genre? Will Train to Busan 2 live up to its forefather? Is this really just cheap hype for a video game tie in? SO. MANY. QUESTIONS!!!
