In Europe in the year 2041, crime is so rampant and people so scared that a new right has been granted- if you die an unnatural death, you have the right to be restored. To ensure everyone is ready to have this happen at any minute, citizens have to back themselves up to a cloud-like server run by a group called Restoration, at least every 48 hours to have a valid “restore point”.
However, there is a group called the River of Life who don’t believe that this practice should be done- how valuable is human life if really, anyone can be brought back?
When one of the creators of the restore point technology, David Kurlstat (Matej Hádek) and his wife are murdered, detective Emma Trochinowska (Andrea Mohhylová) has to figure out why they didn’t have valid restore points and is confronted with resistance from all sides as she races to save the case.
Restore Point is a feast for the eyes; from the sets to the special effects, this film looks awesome! The performances are top notch and our two leads have fantastic chemistry, while the mystery is thrilling, fast paced and compelling. All in all this is a fantastic edition to the sci-fi cannon and a film you do not want to miss.
