What is it with people always spending the night in haunted houses?
In 2017, Scott Thomas’ horror novel, Kill Creek, was tagged as the American Library Association’s Horror Book of the Year. It also found itself short-listed for the Bram Stoker Award. With accolades like that, it was only a matter of time before someone put it on a screen somewhere. That somewhere is going to be the TV and that someone will be Showtime!According to the plot summary of Kill Creek:
When best-selling horror author Sam McGarver is invited to spend Halloween night in one of the country’s most infamous haunted houses, he reluctantly agrees. At least he won’t be alone; joining him are three other masters of the macabre, writers who have helped shape modern horror. But what begins as a simple publicity stunt will become a fight for survival. The entity they have awakened will follow them, torment them, threatening to make them a part of the bloody legacy of Kill Creek.
And who doesn’t like a good ol’ fashioned haunted house story?
Thomas himself will be writing the adaptation of the book into a TV series and will maintain a bit of control as executive producer. Misha Green, co-creater of TV’s Underground, will help out with executive production duties along with Scott Derrickson [writer/director of Doctor Strange (2016)]. Derrickson will also direct.
As this project is just starting out, we’ll be sure to keep you all in the loop with any new info we can dig up!
