Podcast Episode 174: The Wheel of Misfortune Part 2

Scary DVDs! Woo!
The Wheel of Misfortune franchise horror discussion continues with the Jersey Ghouls!

The wheel gives, and sometimes it gives you something kinda lame! Our joint session with Jacki and Marissa, The Jersey Ghouls, back on Spooky Time Episode 18, continues with the second half of our epic discussion.

If you recall from Episode 1, each of the six participating podcasters spun The Wheel of Misfortune to receive an end-of-summer homework assignment. Watch the entirety of a horror film franchise. The catch? The fateful wheel would randomly select the franchise.

The Wheel had 42 (!) franchise options ranging from the iconic classics to the God-awful. To qualify for inclusion in The Wheel of Misfortune, the movie franchise needed to have at least three films. We also excluded a few franchises that we had covered previously in an earlier Podcast Episode: Halloween, The Romero Zombie Films, and The Exorcist series. After a nail-biting round of wheel spinning and trying to avoid getting the 15-film Puppet Master franchise, the results were in. Now we’re back together and ready to talk franchises!

In Episode 1, we covered Final Destination (Liz), Child’s Play (Jackie), and (audible gasp) Twilight (Mike). If you missed it, go back to Episode 173: The Wheel of Misfortune Part 1 for the full effect.

Here’s what you can look forward to in part 2 of The Wheel of Misfortune results extravaganza:

  • Marissa gets to talk about one of her favorite horror franchises, Scream. (She’s a bit of an expert.)
  • Eric ended up with the mediocrity that is the Wishmaster horror franchise.
  • It started well, but then it went straight to VHS for Robert and his appointment with Tremors.
