I scream, you scream we all scream for a good little horror short!
From Crypt TV, the production studio / developmental house from Michael Blum and Eli Roth that brought us the beautifully executed The Birch, comes a wicked little horror / kind-of-comedy about how parents will do ANYTHING for their kids. This five-minute film is completely devoid of any dialogue, but it is crystal clear as to what’s happening. That’s the beauty of a short film.
Chop chop chop chop chop chop… there is a cadence of the cutting of vegetables that begins to get under your skin in this little film, as the mom prepares for a meal. Dad is reading the paper, and is… heyyyy… missing a couple of fingers! What gives?
Cut to a little girl on the sidewalk, jumping rope, when a warbling half-speed version turkey in the straw is heard. IT’S THE ICE CREAM TRUCK! Oooooo! Ice cream! But the ice cream man doesn’t take cash… or cards… and the ice cream man just happens to be Michael Berryman from The Hills Have Eyes! Yeah! THAT GUY.
Have fun with this one. I did!
