We have the trailer for you, with an official press announcement following.
Blairopic Films is thrilled to present The Waiting Room, or Eggs in Purgatory, a short dark-comedy-turned-existential-horror starring Lyla Stern, Pavel Paunov, and Colin Heffernan — the debut written and directed by Madeline Blair — which was awarded Best First Film at the 2023 Chattanooga Film Fest and has been selected for the 2023 Cinema Soup Film Fest.
‘The Waiting Room’ is a surrealist afterlife nightmare allegorizing the teen angst and existential dread associated with facing trauma and mental health issues, and the apathetic response toward such issues. The film lifts inspiration from the 1940s French existentialist play Huis Clos (No Exit) and the ’80s teen gothic cult classics Heathers and Beetlejuice.
