A powerhouse production team puts their weight behind a new horror helmswoman.
Writer/Director Shana Feste [Boundaries (2018), The Greatest (2009)] is diving into the horror genre with the help of Blumhouse Productions and Automatik Entertainment; the duo responsible for the Sinister movies and the Insidious franchise.
Feste will be writing and directing the feminist horror/thriller, Run Sweetheart Run, which centers around a woman whose blind date has gone very, very wrong. Now, she’s got to make her way through Los Angeles on foot in hopes of getting to safety before her lunatic date catches up with her.
In a genre dominated by testosterone, it’s always good to see new female talent taking a stab at horror from behind the camera. Her portfolio is currently oozing with tear-jerkers and relationship dramas, but who knows? Seems like it’s always the quiet ones you’d never suspect that turn out to be the most twisted.
