This is a film that is definitely on the right side of history. It also contains a sharp and laser-focused social commentary around LGBTQ+ justice. T Blockers also puts forth a poignant and editorialized storyline that sadly is undone by a wild lack of focus. Even at an hour and 14 minute run time, and with a varied series of storylines, the film still felt long.

A Pentecostal rogue preacher attempting to perform a dubious gay conversion "therapy" session ends up summoning a demon instead. Whoops! Filled with colorful characters, this South African possession tale weaves a well-connected tale with some fun and occasionally brutal story threads.

Hypochondriac is really a film that hits the right place and the right time. Mental health, familial relationships, concern about physical health and well being, and our collective sense that we just might be lost in the universe. Hypochondriac delivers on all these fronts and manages to sneak in a couple legitimate scares!
Tina Romero is writing Queens of the Dead, a rather unusual homage to her father's legacy.
