Meet The Scariest Thing’s newest critic, Heather Alexander!

ATMOSfx! Woo!
Heather Alexander, the newest critic addition to the Scariest Things team!

The Scariest Things has expanded our team! Please welcome Heather Alexander, the newest critic to our stable of horror critics. It is high time we added on to our team, and this horror trivia master has a deep well of knowledge to share with our audience.

As small horror press journalists, we have been trying to cover the latest and greatest that horror cinema has to offer. Most of our team has had our day jobs get in the way. Such is the way of life in horror blogging! We still want to be able to cover more of the big studio releases. So, we reached out to one of the most knowledgable horror experts we know. We are so happy to have Heather Alexander join our team of horror critics!

Heather and Eric Li have collaborated together as panel hosts at Crypticon Seattle. She joined Eric in his panel “Know Your Tropes: Trapped in a Gas Station”, and she also moderated the panels: “Skinamarink and other Divisive Horror” and “The Best Modern Horror Writers.” Her knowledge of the genre shows up when she co-hosts The Portland Horror Trivia Massacre. She comes up with some serious stump the experts question, keeping the questions fun without making them impossible. Heather shares a deep admiration for the story-forward trend of contemporary horror. Her taste sensibilties marry up very well to The Scariest Things preferences.

The Scariest Things team eagerly await her critiques here on this blog. We offer a five arms through the graveyard salute to our newest author. Braaaaaiiiiiins!

And now, a few words from Heather:

“At a sleepover party at the age of seven, Heather watched the horror movie classic Prom Night and it changed the course of her life. Since then, her life-long passion has been horror and the community surrounding it. A bookseller and curator of the horror section at Powell’s Books for over a decade, Heather is also a co-host of Portland Horror Trivia Massacre. She writes horror movie reviews on her blog “Horror Movies in the Dark” and is the creator/editor of a monthly horror newsletter. Her passion is for new release horror and she has a special love for all slasher and zombie movies. In her spare time, she writes horror short stories and spends time with her husband and four cats. “

If you enjoy Heather’s work, please drop us a message, and check out Horror Movies in the Dark.
