Trailer Alert! BA

After a successful run on the film festival circuit, writer/director Benjamin Wong’s Ba arrives on all VOD platforms Tuesday, May 27th from Ethos Releasing. In my VideoScope magazine review of the film, I wrote that Ba is “a heartstrings-tugger dealing in the fantastical,” that “the proceedings [have] a true feeling of urgency,” and that “Wong tackles the plights that can come with single parenthood through earned emotion.” Following is the official press announcement, and you can watch the official trailer on Instagram here.

ATMOSfx! Woo!

In writer/director Benjamin Wong’s stunning, sentimental genre-bender, a single father is deceived into a treacherous career as the Grim Reaper, while his precocious daughter grows increasingly suspicious of his whereabouts.

This charming and sincere festival hit deftly balances horror, thrills, fantasy, and family drama in a unique tale of fatherhood, identity, and madness. Featuring heartwarming performances from Lawrence Kao (WU ASSASSINS) and Kai Cech (DEAR SANTA), BA is unlike any genre film you’ll see this year.

The latest from distributor Ethos Releasing, BA is written and directed by Benjamin Wong and stars Lawrence Kao, Kai Cech, Michael Paul Chan, Brian Thompson, and Shelli Boone.
