Panic Fest 2022 Preview

The Panic Fest Film Festival is celebrating ten years of horror with fantastic live events, a boatload of features and over 5 blocks of short films!

Kicking off the in person festival is a special 20th anniversary screening of Don Coscarelli’s Bubba Ho-Tep presented by The Last Drive-In‘s Joe Bob Briggs and Darcy the Mail Girl. Horror icon Mick Garris will also be in attendance for a special 30th anniversary screening of Sleepwalkers and a live podcast recording.

With over 30 (!) feature films and 5 shorts blocks there is no shortage of amazing horror.

Fans lucky enough to be in attendance will be able to see some heavy hitters like Gaspar Noé’s Lux Æterna, Watcher, The Innocents, Hatching and The Sadness all of which have been generating major buzz.

But don’t panic if you can’t make it to Kansas City, many of the feature films including Nitram, Woodland Grey, Bitch Ass, Midnight and all the shorts blocks will be screening as part of the virtual festival. Horror comedy When The Screaming Starts, The Chamber of Terror , documentary Rondo and Bob and more will be exclusive to the virtual fest.

Panic Fest 2022 will be happening April 28 through May 8 at the Screenland Armour theater in Kansas City. There is also a virtual pass so you can attend from your couch! The Scariest Things is really excited to be covering this festival again for you in 2022. Last year’s festival had some of our favorite films of 2021 including An Ideal Host, Keeping Company, Censor and The Stylist.
