Wow! The French sure know how to do it right. Not only does this film poster look nothing like the original U.S. print of the Night of the Living Dead, this one takes on a wholly other kind of quality. The poster fo La Nuit des Morts Vivants almost has a supernatural or ghostly vibe and that’s a good thing.
Not something that you’d expect to see on a zombie poster and it certainly doesn’t invoke the imagery and iconography of George Romero’s classic story telling — but who are we to question the French. They’ve always done design well, and well, this is no exception! In this day and age zombie posters have a certain sameness to them, so it’s always nice to see a different take on a classic.
