My Sister, the Serial Killer is the story of Korede, an organized, highly efficient, rule following nurse who has one little problem, her beautiful sister Ayoola is a serial killer. She knows because she’s had to record a third name into her notebook after she helps dispose of the body of the latest man Ayoola has had to “defend herself” against.

With no one to confide in except a comatose patient in the hospital where she works, Korede must carry the burden of her sister’s crimes. But when Ayoola sets her romantic sights on Tade, the object of her affections and as the police inch closer to discovering their secret, Korede must decide how far she’ll go to defend her sister.

Dark humor is splattered through this book like the blood trails from Ayoola’s knife, making My Sister, the Serial Killer is an absolute pleasure to read! Braithwaite’s pacing is superb- it’s a real page turner with curt chapter titles such as “bleach”, “heat” and “knife” echoing Korede’s efficiency. The descriptions of the oppressive heat of Lagos, Nigeria mirror the suspense I felt wondering if the sisters would avoid capture and ending of this novel is also one of the most satisfying I have ever read.
