We’re at the top 20! Can you believe it? Now with 33% more X chromosomes!
We have a special guest to usher in the top 20! Our crack book reporter Liz Williams arrived to attend the HP Lovecraft Film Festival with her husband Wayne (say hi, Wayne!) and she came just in time to defend the honor of her #1 film, Martyrs! (Take that, Mike Campbell!) It’s been a while since we’ve had a female voice to share the spotlight, and it’s the perfect time to bring Liz to the podcasting arena.
Now it can be said, these are the true heavyweights of the genre. What we’ve said before? Yeah, well those sentiments times five. These movies are true darlings of the dreadful, and you would be hard pressed to discount any of the offerings here. Freddy Krueger shows up, at last. Norman Bates takes the stage. Ash Williams is back for his third helping, and who’s in the mood for some fava beans and a fine Chianti?
In my previous preview takes, I’ve been coy with revealing the names of the films, to maintain the littlest bit of mystery for the podcast itself. This time, I’ll give you the hints to the order… by listing some quotes. The movies are so iconic, I’m guessing most of you will get this in one pass!
