Chris Ralph’s Top 25 Horror Movies

Independent film producer and lifelong College buddy of Msoup and LightninLi, Mr. Christopher Ralph puts on his horror hat… and guess what?  Telecommunication and Film grads like the same things that genre fans like!

I am a graduate of the University of Oregon’s Cinema Studies department: ergo sum expertus. I am known at the Scariest Things as the “wet blanket” for arguing in favor of renting esoteric European films about paint drying instead of horror films. Sometimes a documentary filmmaker, my piece about baseball in Italy is called “City of Baseball” and its website is foghorn.tv.

I am concerned that Mike and Eric still haven’t seen enough of Wim Wender’s oeuvre. Shazbot.

Editorial Comment: Back when Chris, Mike, and I were roommates in Eugene, we still went to what was known as “The video store” to rent movies.  One memorable night, Chris, in his most high and mighty film school moment, insisted that we watched Wim Wender’s Paris, Texas, which to Mike and Eric’s ears sounded like water torture.  So we compromised.  The compromise film?  The epic Sorority Girls in The Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama!  We watched both. On that night, Linnea Quigley battled John Hurt for the hearts and minds of U of O students… in one room. Grindhouse for the win! I had to ask Chris to vote in on our top 100, even if this isn’t his strong suit.  We owed him for that fateful evening of boobs and blood.
