Horror Movie News: Jim Jarmusch filming star-studded zombie flick

Because even zombies can be artsy.

Scary DVDs! Woo!
ddd-billandjimArthouse godfather, Jim Jarmusch, is diving into the genre pool once more. His last dip was several years ago with the vampire movie Only Lovers Left Alive (2013). This time around it’s gonna be zombies.

The writer/director hasn’t officially announced the film yet, but Bill Murray let the cat out of the bag a few months ago in an interview with Philly. “I’ve got a good job coming up. Brace yourself: It’s a zombie movie,” he teased. “Jim Jarmusch has written a zombie script that’s so hilarious and it has a cast of great actors…It’s titled The Dead Don’t Die, and it shoots over the summer. But, no, I will not play a zombie.”

Since then more casting info has come to light and what a cast it is! In addition to Bill Murray we’ll supposedly be seeing Selena Gomez, Tilda Swinton, Adam Driver, Chloë Sevigny, Steve Buscemi, Daniel Craig, Rosie Perez, and Austin Butler. Just Jared and Daily Mail have released photos from the set in upstate New York revealing that Bill, Chloë, and Adam appear to be playing police officers while Ms. Gomez may or may not get her head chopped off. Does that relate to signs seen around the set listing the movie title as Kill The Head? We’ll have to wait to find out.

No solid release date has been announced, but The Dead Don’t Die should be shuffling into the world in 2019.
