Who started the acting careers of Jack Nicholson, Robert DeNiro, Dennis Hopper, Peter Fonda, Sylvester Stallone, Diane Ladd, William Shatner and many others? Roger Corman.

Who launched the careers of directors like James Cameron, Peter Bogdanovich, Francis Ford Coppola, Jonathan Demme, Curtis Hanson, Ron Howard, John Sayles and Martin Scorsese? Roger Corman.

Who brought B-movie, indie genre films into the mainstream and forever changed the face of American cinema? Yep, you guessed it, Roger Corman.

From Attack of the Crab Monsters (1957) to his Edgar Allen Poe series to Carnosaur (1993), Piranha (1978), Frankenstein Unbound (1990), and so on and so on and so on, Roger Corman’s contribution to the genre that we love as both a director and producer cannot be understated. For the things he’s done and the things his protegés continue to do, all of us here at Scariest Things would like to wish him a very happy birthday!
