WaititiTV? Yes, please!
The brilliant Kiwi vampire mockumentary, What We Do In The Shadows, is making the move to the small screen. Is it horror? Well, it’s got vampires so we’ll call it horror-adjacent. Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi wrote, directed, and starred in the 2014 horror/comedy which didn’t break any records at the box office, but quickly became a cult classic.
The new series will be a reboot of the movie with each show airing as a half hour of vampirey goodness. Jemaine Clement is set to write the pilot with Taika Waititi directing. The duo will executive produce the series as well along with Scott Rudin, Paul Simms, Garrett Basch, and Eli Bush.
While they starred in the original movie, it’s currently unknown if Clement and Waititi will be popping up anywhere in the series. The show’s new cast includes Kayvan Novak (Danger Mouse, Thunderbirds Are Go), Matt Berry (Toast of London), Natasia Demetriou (Year Friends) and Harvey Guillen (The Thundermans, The Internship).
