Lightning Strikes!  UPDATED for the TOP 100 list! Your Scariest Editor weighs in with his picks for the Top 100 Horror Movies of All Time.

Eric started the Scariest Things with Mike Campbell as a way to express our love for the horror genre… ah… who am I kidding.  We were bored and were looking for something to talk about and used our mutual love for horror films to justify making a Podcast.  That podcast begat this website, and the rest has been a surprisingly successful history.  My taste in horror is all over the map.  I have found myself really loving this new golden era moment of horror we are currently in, and I hope it is here to stay.  I like my scary movies with a good script, first and foremost.  I’m not really into slasher films, and I usually avoid sequels out of habit. I don’t want to have to see every bad horror movie out there just to find the good ones, and I know that’s not what you want to do either… thus… the Scariest Things Podcast has been created to help you out!

In doing the podcast, I realized that even though I have seen a ton of horror movies, I am not QUITE an expert.  I’m an almost aficionado. (If you want a human encyclopedia of horror films, wait until you see Jeff Dean’s list… he knows his horror like no man I know.)  However, I have seen plenty… enough to have 100 horror films that I love, with room left over for some slop.  When coming up with topics for our podcast, I’m finding that I’m going on big binges of movies in eras that have been almost forgotten, and found how great a history there is in horror.  Sub-genres that I hadn’t considered before keep cropping up, and providing new fun opportunities to research.  But rather than have my list be the definitive answer, I have called upon all the Scariest Things resources we could think of to get their opinions for the most well-rounded group of horror films for you to watch.  Oh… and I’m 100% right on all my selections.  Until I change them again.
